The Opportunity

C & M Concrete – Precast & Construction is seeking an experienced, hands-on Commercial Concrete Foreman to lead crews on commercial and civil concrete construction projects across the Texas Hill Country and greater San Antonio region.

Established in 1978, C & M is a family-owned business with approximately 70 employees, specializing in commercial concrete construction and precast products.

Our projects range from commercial building foundations and slabs to retaining walls, structural concrete installations, and civil infrastructure work.

We are looking for a working foreman who can read plans, coordinate crews, stay ahead of construction schedules, and maintain safe, high-quality production. This is a field leadership position with a potential career path toward Superintendent.

What You'll Do

• Lead and supervise company concrete construction crews on active commercial and civil jobsites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, grading plans, structural details, specifications, and elevations.
• Coordinate daily layouts, excavation, reinforcing steel, formwork, concrete placements, and finishing operations.
• Work alongside crews on critical layouts, complicated installations, and technically demanding tasks.
• Plan labor, materials, equipment needs, and daily work sequencing to maintain production.
• Coordinate with the Site Superintendent on schedules, field conditions, drawing changes, and project priorities.
• Direct crew activities and help specialty trade teams understand field layouts and construction sequences when needed.
• Oversee safe heavy equipment operation and mentor operators on proper equipment use and jobsite safety.
• Maintain OSHA-aligned safety practices, conduct field safety checks, and address hazards.
• Help train less-experienced employees and support crew skill development.
• Document project activity, jobsite photos, and progress using field reporting tools as directed.
• Troubleshoot field challenges, including weather delays, concrete delivery changes, equipment issues, and jobsite conflicts.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience leading commercial concrete, structural concrete, or civil construction crews.
• Ability to independently interpret construction drawings and translate plans into field layouts.
• Hands-on knowledge of concrete foundations, slabs, formwork, reinforcing steel, and concrete placement.
• Demonstrated ability to organize workers and keep projects moving under changing jobsite conditions.
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and safe operation around construction equipment.
• Ability to direct, coach, and hold crews accountable for safe and accurate work.
• Dependable communication and practical problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of relevant commercial concrete experience, including foreman or crew leadership responsibilities.
• Experience with retaining walls, commercial structural foundations, civil/site concrete, or complex concrete installations.
• Familiarity with CompanyCam, Raken, or similar field documentation tools.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication ability.
• Experience coaching equipment operators and developing junior crew members.
• Knowledge of ADA requirements and public works concrete standards.

Work Environment & Travel

• Work on commercial and civil construction projects throughout the Kerrville, Boerne, San Antonio, and surrounding Central Texas region.
• Employees may report directly to assigned jobsites rather than traveling to Kerrville first.
• Most assignments allow employees to return home in the evening.
• Some projects require weekday overnight travel; company-provided lodging and per diem apply.
• Work schedules vary with weather, concrete deliveries, and project demands. Longer days and occasional four-day schedules may occur.
