Applied AI Modeling Lead

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require an M.S. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Research.
• We require 7+ years of relevant, hands-on Credit Cards industry experience building statistical, econometric, or machine learning models, plus 5+ years of hands-on artificial intelligence experience such as reinforcement learning or optimization algorithms.
• We require strong Python skills and practical experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, along with libraries including NumPy, Scikit-Learn, and Pandas.
• We require strong working knowledge of Jupyter Notebook or JupyterLab.
• We require the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear, actionable analytical plans.
• A PhD in a quantitative discipline is preferred.
• Experience building advanced forecasting, AI, or machine learning models in consumer finance, financial services, technology, or a major retailer is preferred.
• AWS Certified Machine Learning or Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals is preferred.
• Knowledge of Databricks and Snowflake is preferred.

• We develop and deploy machine learning and AI models aligned to business objectives, balancing model performance with speed to market and complexity considerations.
• We lead modeling and data science initiatives end to end, working with business, governance, and technology partners.
• We define clear business use cases, create and execute project plans, and carry out exploratory data analysis to test business hypotheses.
• We oversee model development, implementation, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• We serve as subject matter experts and trusted advisors, helping business partners understand the strengths and limitations of our models.
• We work with governance teams to ensure thorough model documentation, monitor performance metrics, and maintain regulatory compliance.
• We coach and mentor junior team members, helping build their technical, business, and communication capabilities.
