Grid Integration & SCADA Commissioning Manager (Solar)

Imagine arriving at a site that’s mechanically complete but not yet energized. You guide the final stretch—translating schedules into action, ensuring every SCADA point is verified, every HMI value is trustworthy, and every test is lined up so the asset seamlessly joins the grid.

Role snapshot

• Engagement: 1-year contract (W-2)
• Reporting line: Senior Project Manager
• Work setup: Primarily remote across the U.S., with travel up to 20% to project sites and to Juno Beach, Florida

Your mission

Act as the Owner’s representative during startup, commissioning, and testing of large PV systems. You’ll orchestrate schedules, validate controls and data integrity, and ensure compliance so assets pass PPA, GIA, and ISO gates and perform to expectations from day one.

Core outcomes

• Execute performance analytics across PV subsystems (inverters, trackers, substations, SCADA/control systems) to surface insights and corrective actions.
• Own readiness for PPA, GIA, and ISO testing; coordinate energy forecasting and AVR/AGC notifications with customers, the control center, and external stakeholders.
• Work hand-in-hand with IT & SCADA teams on functional checks and point verification.
• Develop a commissioning schedule anchored to mechanical completion with the SCADA Integrator and Execution Commissioning Project Manager.
• Confirm SCADA HMI functionality and accuracy with the SCADA Integrator and Commissioning Manager.
• Support CEWIS Critical Point Checkout, including ROCC alarm checks/PGD.
• Identify deficiencies through performance data reviews and drive resolution.
• Lead, coordinate, and report on contractor/vendor commissioning activities; maintain transparent status reporting.

What sets you up for success

• Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years working with utility-scale solar power systems.

Backgrounds we value

• Professional or graduate experience in utility PV systems.
• SCADA systems experience within industrial plants/processes.
• 2+ years collaborating with Transmission Operators, ISOs, and Balancing Authorities.

Compensation and benefits

• Base pay estimate: $99.00/hr to $104.00/hr, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skills.
