THIS JOB IS FULL TIME - ON SITE - LOCATED IN PARKVILLE, MARYLAND

We are seeking a GC Estimator to join our construction team. This role is focused on public-sector and municipal work, including competitive hard-bid, sealed-bid procurement for ground-up new construction and major renovation projects.

The right candidate will understand how to build a complete, accurate, and competitive estimate under tight deadlines, with a strong grasp of public bidding requirements, subcontractor coverage, scope leveling, and risk identification.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

– Prepare detailed bid packages for public and municipal projects

– Analyze drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents

– Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier pricing

– Identify scope gaps, bid risks, value engineering opportunities, and pricing strategies

– Manage multiple bid pursuits with strict deadlines

– Coordinate with operations, project management, and leadership during bid preparation

– Participate in post-bid reviews, buyout, and handoff to the construction operations team

PROJECT TYPES

– Ground-up public construction

– Major renovations and additions

– Municipal and government facilities

– Schools, public buildings, infrastructure-related vertical construction, and similar work

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

– Estimating experience with a general contractor

– Experience with sealed bids and hard deadline procurement

– Ability to read plans and specs thoroughly and produce scope packages for all subcontractor trade disciplines

– Ability to engage subcontractors and maintain close, long-term relationships

– Organized, deadline-driven, and highly detail-oriented

PREFERRED

– Experience estimating both new construction and major renovation work

– Knowledge of public procurement requirements, bid forms, alternates, unit prices, and bid bonding procedures

– Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software such as Building Connected and MS Excel
