Job Title Mechatronics & Robotics Technician – JLL Location On-site – New Orleans, LA Job Overview As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. Your responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical components, maintaining inventory, and mentoring junior technicians. Key Responsibilities Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures. Complete preventive maintenance routines with proper documentation. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, and more. Maintain a positive working relationship with all operations facilities staff. Track and store department inventory. Move up to 49lbs and stand, walk, and shift for up to 12hours, with or without reasonable accommodation. Possibly travel up to 20% of the time. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights and/or holidays. 2+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment. 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in a mechanical or electrical field from a vocational school or college. At least 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls. At least 1 year of blueprint and electrical schematic reading. At least 1 year of knowledge of electrical and electronic principles. Experience with MHE safety standards and safety compliance with OEM specifications. Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions. Physical Demands Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking. Lift parts and tools averaging 20lbs, occasionally up to 49lbs. Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot pedals, manual handling, and wrist motion. Work conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, standing/walking on concrete for 10+ hour shifts, working at heights, pushing/pulling wheeled equipment and carts up to 100+lbs, maneuvering bulky equipment parts, and cramped positions under/behind machinery.
