This full-time, remote position is ideal for a mental health professional who is passionate about guiding individuals through their recovery journeys. You will play a critical role in supporting clients dealing with eating disorders as you implement evidence-based therapeutic strategies tailored to their unique needs.

Work Environment\n

This position is set in a flexible remote environment while primarily supporting outpatient services. You will work alongside a skilled team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and fellow therapists, who share a commitment to holistic client care. Our regular business hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic while delivering exceptional care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments to evaluate clients’ symptoms related to eating disorders and identify any co-occurring mental health issues, shaping their treatment plan based on their specific challenges.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans that are crafted collaboratively with clients, promoting their active engagement in the recovery process.
  • \n
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to foster healthier coping mechanisms.

  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and individual therapy, addressing negative self-perceptions and providing strategies to improve clients’ body image, self-esteem, and relationship with food.
  • \n
  • Educate clients and their families about the nature of eating disorders and equip them with tools to create a supportive environment at home.
  • \n
  • Document clients’ progress diligently, maintaining accurate records of assessments, therapy sessions, and treatment modifications in compliance with ethical standards.

  • Engage in case management by coordinating care with the treatment team, ensuring a seamless flow of information to enhance client outcomes.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development, enhancing clinical skills and keeping up-to-date with the latest research in eating disorder treatments.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client population consists of individuals struggling with various eating disorders, which may intersect with other mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Through a compassionate and strengths-based approach, you will work with clients of diverse backgrounds and needs, guiding them on their path to recovery while fostering resilience and self-empowerment.

Qualifications\n

  • Master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • \n
  • Valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LCMFT in the state of Kansas.
  • \n
  • Proficient in established evidence-based therapies specifically designed for eating disorders, including but not limited to CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • \n
  • Demonstrable understanding of the complexities associated with eating disorders and the range of co-occurring conditions that may affect treatment.
  • \n
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively build rapport and trust with clients from various walks of life.

Preferred Experience\n

  • A minimum of two years of direct experience in a clinical setting, specifically focused on eating disorders or related mental health issues.

  • Experience in conducting group therapy sessions and psychoeducational workshops.
  • \n
  • Prior work within a team-based treatment model, collaborating with other mental health professionals.
