This is a community-based medical center serving the central Pennsylvania region with a 9-bed emergency department. The facility operates with a collaborative staffing model including physician, APP, and nursing coverage around the clock, along with robust support services including anesthesia, general surgery, laboratory, radiology, and orthopedic surgery available 24 hours a day.

Job Details:
Locum Tenens coverage needed for multiple dates spanning October 2026 through June 2027
Shifts available as both day (6am-6pm) and night (6pm-6am) coverage
Provider staffing model consists of 1 Physician (6A-6P and 6P-6A) and 1 APP (11am-9pm) daily
Nursing staffing includes 2 RNs around the clock plus a triage RN mid-day
Additional support staff includes respiratory therapy, float RN, Nursing Supervisor, and Nurse Manager
Patient encounters per shift vary; average daily census is 44
Trauma Level 4 facility
No Labor & Delivery department on-site; if delivery situation arises, provider should deliver and transfer to Conemaugh when stable
Newborn deliveries may be received in the ED
Must hold an active Pennsylvania medical license
Board Certification in Emergency Medicine is required
Credentialing timeframe is approximately 14 days
Nearest airports are Pittsburgh or Latrobe; lodging recommendations are in the Altoona area
