Job Details Job Location: VA Warehouse - NEW - Chesapeake, VA 23322 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Job Shift: Day Job Category: Installation – Maint – Repair Duties / Responsibilities Assembles and installs solar panels on roofs Configures PV systems based on site conditions and customers' needs and expectations; connects panels to the power grid Maintains high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety Completes projects within established policies and procedures Ensures that equipment is weather‑sealed Performs routine maintenance on PV systems Assists the Electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical system Trains crew members up to speed on all components utilized during installation (procedures, tools, lines of communication, etc.) Checks over provided jobs (pack out) before leaving the warehouse each morning to ensure provided material Reviews plans and counts parts from the plan set to verify BOM Responsible for final system walkthrough with the customer ensuring quality and aesthetic of install Maintains cleanliness of job site and installation vehicles Follows and actively enforces all OSHA and ION safety guidelines at location, including attending weekly safety meetings and safety inspections per ION policy Performs other related duties as assigned Required Skills / Abilities Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to read building plans Ability to read equipment manuals Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels Ability to use ION technology, such as smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, Salesforce Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Solar install experience required Vocational or technical school training preferred Driving Requirements Must be at least 21 years old Must have a clean driving record as determined by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check Physical Requirements Must be able to work at great heights Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time Work Environment Installation is done outdoors; installers work on rooftops, attics, and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electrical grid Installers work as part of a team; installation of solar panels requires help of technicians and electricians Compensation / Benefits Competitive wages Health, vision, and dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off and paid holidays Paid birthday off ION Solar is an equal‑opportunity employer.
