Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Attorney role based in the Lake Norman (Cornelius) office. The Attorney will manage a caseload involving family law and related practice areas, including client counseling, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and preparing pleadings, motions, and agreements. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, developing case strategies, and representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings. The role also involves collaborating with other attorneys and staff to deliver comprehensive legal solutions and maintaining regular, clear communication with clients regarding case status and options. The Attorney is expected to support the firm’s commitment to high-quality advocacy and strong community engagement. Qualifications Positive attitude, a good sense of humor, and the ability to effectively communicate with clients, coworkers, opposing counsel, and the Court. Knowledge of Family Law and/or Estate Planning or willingness to develop competency where relevant to client matters. Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice and guidance to clients across a range of issues. Proficiency in legal research to analyze statutes, case law, and regulations and apply findings to case strategy. Effective negotiation skills for settlement discussions, mediation, and advocacy in and out of court. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in North Carolina. Experience managing a litigation or family law caseload, ideally including courtroom experience and client representation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and sound professional judgment. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and demonstrate empathy and professionalism.
