Associate Attorney

Jetton & Meredith is seeking an Associate Family Law Attorney to join our growing Family Law practice. This is an opportunity to build your career alongside an experienced team of family law attorneys while taking an active role in representing clients through some of the most important and challenging moments of their lives. Our Family Law team handles a wide range of matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, separation agreements, and other complex domestic matters. The attorney in this position will work closely with our Family Law partners and legal support team while managing an assigned caseload and developing meaningful client relationships. We are looking for an attorney who is hardworking, dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing clients with excellent representation and service. What You'll Do Manage an assigned caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution Communicate directly with clients and provide clear, practical legal guidance throughout their cases Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents Conduct legal research and analyze issues related to North Carolina family law Prepare for and participate in hearings, calendar calls, mediations, negotiations, and other court proceedings Work closely with partners, attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to develop case strategy Review financial records, discovery responses, and other case-related documents Negotiate with opposing counsel and assist in resolving matters when appropriate Maintain organized and accurate case files, deadlines, and client communications Provide responsive, professional, and compassionate service to clients Participate in firm initiatives, professional development, and community involvement as appropriate What We're Looking For Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active license to practice law in North Carolina, or eligibility for admission Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines Professional judgment and attention to detail Ability to work independently while also collaborating with attorneys and support staff A client-focused approach and an understanding of the sensitive nature of family law matters Prior family law, litigation, courtroom, or related legal experience is preferred Why Join Jetton & Meredith?
