Receptionist

Responsibilities Demonstrates proficiency in IKnow Med for EMR documentation and chart preparation. Ensures necessary elements are present in the patient chart to provide care. Proficient in scheduling and scanning documents. Maintains accurate documentation regarding MIPS requirements. Answers phones professionally and transfers calls. Proficient in Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and Chrome. Performs check‑in duties and tasks appropriate staff. Interacts professionally with patients, caregivers, providers, and other staff members. Collects copayments/payments. Updates paperwork and insurance information. Prepares paperwork for the next day's schedule. Transfers phones to the answering service as needed. Accurately documents information in the EMR. Ensures all documents are scanned into the patient's chart. Keeps all paperwork up to date. Provides a description for why no copayment/payment is collected. Has all paperwork ready for the next business day. Ensures all patients are approved to return for care. Stays polite, courteous, and professional at all times. Willing to help others in any way possible. Seeks opportunities to learn new things related to the practice. Willing to help with check‑out procedures. Demonstrates professionalism in attire and attitude. Promotes cohesive positive relationships with co‑workers. Treats patients and caregivers with compassion and respect. Communicates with other offices and businesses professionally. Stays conscious of surroundings while speaking with patients. Maintains HIPAA compliance. Avoids being loud or boisterous. Communicates in a positive and respectful manner. Willing to resolve conflicts to achieve a positive outcome. Discerns patient needs through attentive listening and observation. Listens to others before drawing conclusions. Adheres to policies and procedures regarding time off, punctuality, and early departures. Notifies the supervisor of unexpected events that may cause tardiness or early departure.
