Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Job DescriptionBoyd Thermal by Eaton is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift at our Niagara Falls, NY location. Responsible for motivating, leading, and coordinating production employees to safely produce quality products. This role is fully accountable for safety, quality, delivery, and execution within the assigned production area, including ownership of the daily production schedule, workforce performance, training compliance, and equipment readiness. Supervisors are expected to lead from the floor, enforce standards consistently, and ensure work is executed safely, correctly, and on time.This position is responsible for 2nd shift operations (3-11pm) at the Niagara Falls, NY location.BENEFITSPay based on skill and experience ($80,000-$95,000)Health Insurance plus Dental & Vision coverage401KESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide direct supervision to manufacturing employees, including work assignment, floor oversight, and coverageOwn daily production execution, schedule attainment, and on‑time delivery commitmentsMonitor production progress in real time, maintain accurate work order status, and take immediate corrective action to resolve delaysManage employee timekeeping (vacation requests, timecard approvals)Ensure appropriate staffing, coverage, and workforce management to meet operational requirementsEnforce all safety policies and procedures without exception and address unsafe behavior immediatelyEnsure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as customer and company standards and policiesOwn employee training, cross‑training, and qualification requirements to support flexibility and performanceMaintain training records, certifications, and attendance documentationConduct performance appraisals and provide ongoing, direct feedback to employeesIdentify and resolve employee relations and performance issues and areas of opportunityAdminister progressive discipline related to attendance, performance, and policy compliance, up to and including terminationReinforce standard work and strict process discipline across all operations, including machining, welding, brazing, furnace operations, assembly, chem‑line, and other functions within the facilityPartner with Quality and Engineering to support containment, identify root cause/corrective action, and proactively drive process improvementsEnsure equipment readiness and confirm preventative maintenance activities are completed as scheduledEscalate and follow through on equipment and operational issues until resolutionCoordinate cross‑functionally with Scheduling, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, and Human ResourcesLead daily communication of priorities, expectations, and resultsAccountable for departmental performance and achievement of production, safety, and quality objectivesProvide feedback to management and recommend process improvements to drive continuous improvementPerform other duties as assignedPREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, blueprints, and technical documentation; proficient in the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipersStrong knowledge of machining, welding, and assembly processesExcellent leadership, team‑building, coaching, and communication skills (interpersonal, written, and oral)Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, draw valid conclusions, and execute with attention to detail and urgency in a fast‑paced environmentProficient computer skills, including employee management systems (Workday), Microsoft Office, and ExcelAbility to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and accurate recordkeepingQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent work experience required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferredMinimum of 3+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience; 10 years preferredProven ability to lead teams, enforce standards, and drive operational performanceDue to federal contract obligations, must meet the definition of a “U.S. Person” as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)Must be willing to work hours required to support operations, including coverage of primary shift and weekends when neededCOMPANY OVERVIEWBoyd Thermal is now part of Eaton—bringing together two strong teams to serve high-growth markets like AI, aerospace, and data centers.
