HVAC Truck Based Journeymen Mechanic (union)

What you will do Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing. Provide the highest level of customer service, solving facility inefficiencies and resolving service-related items. As a trusted advisor, provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes to support customer needs and upselling opportunities during commissioning and aftermarket service. How will you do it Partner with Journeymen and Servicemen to repair centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers. Conduct system troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services for the fast-growing business. Use vibration equipment to troubleshoot driveline issues, perform mechanical shaft alignment with dial indicators, and execute routine preventive maintenance. Travel may be required (10–20%) to support branch customer activities. What we look for Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO. Minimum of 3 years commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry. Practical experience with light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment (e.g., rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing). Ability to use vibration equipment and perform shaft alignment with dial indicators. Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies. Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver’s license. Strong written and verbal communication skills for customer interaction and quoting. Self‑starter attitude, passion for learning, and strong commitment to safety. Pay and Benefits Hourly rate: $55, determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
