About the Facility:
This federally qualified health center provides primary care health services, behavioral health counseling, psychiatric medication management, an in-house pharmacy, and a substance abuse recovery program. The clinic and its programs are located at the heart of the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope - a campus of five non-profit organizations in Las Cruces, New Mexico, providing a wide menu of services to people experiencing homelessness and the indigent population of southern New Mexico. AHC has an annual budget of approximately $4 million, about 40 employees, and about 1500 unique patients each year.

CEO - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The CEO serves as the chief spokesperson for the organization, articulating an inspiring vision to raise visibility and impact.
• Engage critical stakeholders, including other not-for-profit organizations, business leaders, civic and faith organizations, donors, and local, state, and federal leaders.
• Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement a sustainable strategy for achieving the organization's mission.
• Provide data-driven rationale to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
• Ensure all patients receive respectful, dignified, and high-quality care through the organization's services.
• Assess community trends and patient needs to implement programs or activities that align with the mission.
• The CEO identifies and pursues grant opportunities to support and expand organizational capabilities.
• Ensure effective grant management, including compliance with terms and regulations.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors through targeted outreach and fundraising events.
• Mentor staff, recognize achievements, and support professional growth.
• Provide a competitive compensation and benefits package to attract and retain top talent.
• Collaborate with the Board Finance Committee and staff to develop, monitor, and manage the budget for financial stability.
• Implement and oversee policies and procedures for accounting, financial management, and compliance with audit requirements.
• Deliver regular financial statements and reports to the Board.
• Uphold safety protocols, risk management strategies, and emergency preparedness.
• The CEO ensures appropriate insurance coverage for organizational activities.

CEO - REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in public health, health management, business, public administration, a clinical specialty, or a related field. A master's degree in these areas is highly desirable.
• Minimum of two years in a leadership role within a human service or healthcare organization. Three to five years of organizational management experience preferred.
• Passion for serving people experiencing homelessness and indigent populations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
