Front of House Team Leader — Austin Peay

At Chick-fil-A Austin Peay, a Front of House Team Leader's primary responsibility is to engage, support, and develop people while leading an excellent guest experience.

Team Leaders supervise Front of House operations during assigned shifts, coach Team Members, maintain Chick-fil-A standards, and ensure guests receive fast, accurate, and genuinely hospitable service. Qualified Team Leaders may also be responsible for opening or closing the restaurant in the absence of a manager.

This is a hands-on leadership position. Team Leaders work alongside the team, set the pace, solve problems, and accept responsibility for the results of the areas they lead.

What You'll Do

Lead and Develop People

• Bring the Operator's vision to life during every shift
• Engage, coach, and develop Front of House Team Members
• Set clear expectations and provide timely, respectful feedback
• Recognize strong performance and address performance concerns
• Model and coach Chick-fil-A's CORE 4 and Second Mile Service behaviors
• Assist with initial training, recertification, and ongoing development
• Help Team Members anticipate guest and operational needs
• Build positive relationships with Team Members and fellow leaders
• Create an environment where people feel respected, supported, and accountable
• Help identify and resolve communication or teamwork breakdowns

Lead Front of House Operations

• Accept responsibility for the people, operations, and results within your assigned area
• Position Team Members effectively and adjust deployment as business needs change
• Monitor staffing and labor to support operational excellence and responsible financial performance
• Lead dining room, front counter, mobile-order, and drive-thru operations
• Ensure service is fast, accurate, attentive, and welcoming
• Monitor order accuracy, speed of service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction
• Anticipate operational needs and respond before they become larger problems
• Handle guest concerns using the HEARD model and work to restore trust
• Ensure cash-handling and register procedures are followed
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and inviting restaurant
• Ensure daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities are completed to standard
• Complete required operational and food-safety assessments
• Monitor the building and grounds at the beginning and end of assigned shifts
• Follow and enforce Chick-fil-A Austin Peay policies and operational procedures
• Leave the restaurant, team, and shift better than you found them

Communicate and Take Ownership

• Communicate clearly with Team Members, fellow Team Leaders, Directors, and the Operator
• Share important information accurately and promptly
• Follow up consistently on assignments and commitments
• Understand the restaurant's current vision, goals, and priorities
• Track and report progress within assigned areas of responsibility
• Make timely decisions based on what is best for the guest, team, and business
• Take responsibility for decisions, results, and mistakes
• Address disagreements privately, professionally, and promptly
• Present ideas and concerns respectfully and constructively
• Protect and strengthen the Chick-fil-A brand

Leadership Development

Team Leaders are mentored by a Director and participate in an intentional leadership-development process. This includes:

• Completing assigned leadership-development work
• Participating in weekly leadership meetings
• Receiving regular coaching and feedback
• Developing written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
• Improving organization, follow-up, decision-making, and problem-solving
• Learning opening, closing, cash-management, back-office, and restaurant-management procedures

Based on performance, strengths, and interests, a Team Leader may be selected to support a Director in a specific area of ownership. These assignments provide additional experience and preparation for future advancement.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous leadership experience required
• Available to work days, nights, and weekends
• Available to work at least 35 hours per week
• Available to work up to four Saturdays per month
• Able to complete all required leadership-development assignments
• Able to learn restaurant systems, back-office procedures, and computer applications
• Able to stand for extended periods and work inside and outside
• Able to work in varying weather conditions when supporting drive-thru operations
