Purchase Specialist

Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support daily purchasing activities, supplier management, and inventory requirements. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials, services, and maintenance supplies are available to support production while maintaining quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Responsibilities Create and process purchase orders within an ERP system Maintain purchasing records and supplier information Train employees on purchasing procedures and PO entry Evaluate supplier pricing and perform cost comparisons Monitor supplier performance, quality, and on-time delivery Develop and maintain supplier scorecards Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements Manage maintenance and spare parts inventory records Create new part numbers and maintain ERP data accuracy Analyze historical purchasing data and support budgeting efforts Develop and improve purchasing policies and procedures Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Finance, and Operations teams Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED 3-5 years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience Manufacturing, industrial, automotive, fabrication, machining, or production experience Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Epicor, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards, Infor, or similar) Strong negotiation and supplier management skills Experience with purchase orders, contracts, and inventory management Preferred: MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) purchasing experience Supplier performance management and scorecard development #J-18808-Ljbffr
