Experience with neonates is required. The nurse will float to postpartum for baby care assignments. Working every other weekend is mandatory. Scrubs will be provided. Assist with circumcision and assess the site post-op. Educate parents on car seat safety and discharge instructions. Provide care for infants with conditions such as low birth weight and neonatal abstinence syndrome. Monitor and maintain IVs as needed. Perform phototherapy and metabolic screening. Administer vaccines and manage thermoregulation for newborns. Teach circumcision care to parents. Experience in a delivery room is essential for this position. Nurses must be comfortable with a variety of patient care scenarios in the nursery setting.
