About the Position

Nurses will assist with various infant care procedures. Skills required include newborn assessment, thermoregulation, and IV management. Candidates must have experience in a Special Care Nursery/Level II. Floating to postpartum for baby care assignments is required. Every other weekend work is necessary as part of the schedule. Responsibilities include discharge teaching to parents and managing isolation precautions. Nurses should be comfortable administering vaccines and conducting metabolic screenings. Charge duties and precepting other nurses will be part of the role. Candidates should have experience with low birth weight infants and newborn hypoglycemia. Additional tasks may involve car seat education and circumcision care teaching.
