Registered Nurse ER (Adult)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for our Emergency Room (ER) department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to adult patients in urgent and emergent situations.

Scheduling Details

• Shift hours: 7 PM to 7 AM alternating with 11 AM to 11 PM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Call Off Policy: The organization may cancel up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges.

Charting

Experience with EPIC charting is required.

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN license (pending licenses are not accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Valid NIHSS certification required

Required Clinical Skills

• IV therapy (blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting/maintaining IVs); knowledgeable in administering IV vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP; ventilator management skills
• Experience with CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI
• Cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Emergency care experience with both adult and pediatric patients, including trauma and ortho trauma
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric spinal cord injury protocols

Unit Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:5 for adults and geriatrics, covering all emergency type diagnoses
• Special Equipment: Proficient in the use of Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Floating: Required to float within skillset as necessary
• Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white
