DSP-RBT - Back-up Lead - CA

Pay Rate $29.00 per hour. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the overall supervision, protection and care of individuals, ensuring house rules and facilitating learning and training in fire safety. Identify and appropriately escalated signs of self‑harm or harm to others. Provide support in various settings according to each person’s individualized service and behavior support plans, using support skills for people with moderate to complex needs. Manage crisis situations while adhering to policies, procedures and regulations. Implement protective oversight plans (IBSPs, IPPs) for all people we support. Maintain a clean, safe and organized work and therapy environment, performing safe handling procedures and COVID mitigation protocols. Support individuals in maximizing strengths, interests and abilities, upholding personal rights, and providing emotional support and positive relationships. Encourage socializing and facilitate activities that build social capital and community connections. Ensure person‑centered plans are implemented and assist with tasks including personal care, activities of daily living, medication administration, skill development, advocacy, communication support, ethical decision making, meal preparation, transportation, recreational activities, medical appointments, and safeguarding personal allowance funds. Complete all required trainings for compliance with YAI policies and licensing regulations. Review communication logs daily, make entries of events, progress notes and other documentation, and complete all paperwork for billing and compliance. Maintain a therapeutic environment using personal outcome measures, person‑centered thinking, informed decision‑making and trauma‑informed approaches. Serve as a member of a highly effective team, providing feedback and communicating programmatic needs. Consult with program leadership, clinical and direct support staff to ensure top‑quality care, attend and actively participate in team meetings. Employ foundational teaching skills such as task analysis and progressive teaching. Comply with all state, federal and local regulatory requirements, including HIPAA. Complete and maintain Bacb requirements for RBT or LPT certification and other required recertifications. Demonstrate and model all DSP/RBT skills with a person‑centered and trauma‑informed approach. Under appropriate supervision, participate in treatment plan development, acquire specialized clinical knowledge for person‑specific needs, implement Behavior Support Plans, collect, record and summarize behavioral data, observe and report changes to supervisors, communicate with authorized representatives about progress, and serve as backup Lead RBT/Lead LPT when required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year of prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behavior. Must hold or obtain Registered Behavior Technician certification within 60 days of appointment (or Licensed Psych Technician or Qualified Behavior Modification Professional). Valid driver’s license. Successful completion of Facility Manager Training within 30 days. Completion of State of California Direct Support Professional Training (DSPT) Years 1 and 2 within one year. CPR/First Aid, Ukeru and CPI certifications, with annual recertification. Completion of health screening and annual continuing education units (CEUs) for professional development. Exceptional communication and training skills, basic computer skills (email, Workday), teamwork, initiative, organization, time management, flexibility for lead coverage assignments, and the physical ability to perform required lifting/moving tasks and emergency interventions. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Services (e.g., social work, psychology). Supervisory experience in any field. Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and co‑occurring behavioral/mental health needs.
