General OBGYN Staff Physician

UCR Health and the University of California, Riverside (UCR) School of Medicine is seeking a part time and/or full-time general OBGYN Staff Physician. Candidate must possess an M.D. or D.O. and have a demonstrated career focus in obstetrics. We are seeking an experienced OB-GYN to join our team. You will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, treating, and monitoring diseases and issues related to women's health, and providing medical counsel and support to women during pregnancy and childbirth. To be successful as an OB-GYN, you should be a highly-skilled specialist who is passionate about women's healthcare. Top candidates will also be good communicators and educators.

Active candidates for this program must be board certified and must have ACLS for OB and NRP certification. A minimum of one year of practice post residency training from an accredited residency training program is required. Applicants must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and UCR affiliated hospitals. The full salary range for the OB/GYN Physician Specialist is from $118,100 - $302,700 annually, with additional compensation eligibility based on clinical productivity. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Educational Requirements

Must possess an M.D., D.O. or equivalent degree. Required

Experience Requirements

Minimum of one (1) year of practice exclusive of internship/residency (post internship/residency). Required

Strong background and skills in clinical practice, clinical teaching, and managed care. Preferred

Computer proficiency and first-hand experience in using electronic health records systems to document patient interactions and coordinate care. Preferred

License Requirements

Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the California Medical Board. Required

Maintenance of California Medical License and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) prescribing number. Required

Certification Requirements

Obstetrics and Gynecology Board Certification. Required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Required

ACLS for OB - Required

NRP Certification - Required

Special Conditions

Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours - Required

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care: engages in a full range of direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of his/her overall professional responsibility. Patient care activities will include, but are not be limited to: 1. Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, ordering lab work, ordering imaging, transfer authorization, risk assessment, or other requirements 2. Extensive and on-going communications with community primary care physicians who routinely manage the care of patients. 3. Reviews progress of patients, responds to patient messages and phone calls in a timely manner. 4. May participate in labor and delivery care of UCR Health patients at affiliated hospitals. - 65%

Accurate and timely completion of all clinical and professional records and documentation to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory, licensure and accreditation requirements. - 15%

Accurately documents needed information to bill for services by recording diagnosis codes and completing corresponding documentation. Works with UCR billing services department, both clinical and nonclinical people, to explain, confirm, and review charges. Provides supporting documentation as needed. - 10%

Instruct residents, interns, and students in designated specialized medical service. - 5%

Achieve quality improvement goals for patient panel - 5%
