Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer (OCI Object Storage)

Salary: $79,200 - 209,500 per year Requirements:

• Strong software engineering and coding skills, with familiarity with distributed systems
• Expertise or a strong interest in distributed systems, large-scale storage, and highly available services
• Ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment and a willingness to learn

• Design and develop major Object Storage Service components and features
• Build and improve distributed systems that scale, and optimize code and systems for large-scale data processing
• Implement scalability, performance, and load-testing requirements for assigned components; review teammates implementations
• Develop fault-tolerant services using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts
• Design components to recover from service disruptions and support in-service updates
• Create tests, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, and alerts to detect issues and monitor service health
• Implement functional requirements, fault-injection and other correctness tests, and data replication and synchronization to maintain availability and integrity
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve operational issues; develop troubleshooting automation and participate in support rotations, incident response, and root-cause investigations
• Apply security controls, including encryption and access controls, implement remediation plans, and help maintain compliance and current documentation
• Maintain infrastructure automation tools and follow change-management plans for patches, updates, and rollbacks
• Track and prioritize work, adjusting to changing timelines and resources
• Collaborate across teams, understand stakeholder and customer needs, and contribute to shared goals and knowledge sharing
• Address standard and non-standard problems, escalating complex issues as appropriate
• Build skills, seek feedback, stay current with industry practices, and recommend process improvements
