Registered Nurse Cardiac Telemetry

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 22 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Prior travel experience - Experience managing continuous IV medications including: - Cardiac drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin - Diuretics: Bumex, Lasix - Anticoagulants: Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin - Insulin drips Description: Candidates must confirm their experience upon submission to avoid delays. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. The role involves overflow IMCU, arrhythmia management, cardioversion, and care for patients with cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal, pulmonary conditions, pulmonary edema, and DVT. Experience with cardiac arrhythmias such as stable A-Fib, SVT, and bradycardia is required. Candidates should also be familiar with surgical patients including those recovering from cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and chest tubes. Occasional exposure to vascular patients, post-cardiac catheterization, and other specialty cases is expected. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 5-6 patients per nurse. Experience with electronic charting systems is preferred. Navy blue scrubs are required. Weekend work is typically every other weekend, and travelers fill gaps in the schedule as needed. Floating to other units within the facility is required based on patient needs. Call requirements are rare, with a response time of 2 hours. Candidates are expected to work one major holiday during their assignment and may be required to work additional holidays. Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary for a timely start. All required documentation must be submitted before the stated deadlines to ensure compliance. Travelers should have knowledge of various nursing skills including accessing and managing ports, managing BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and central line care. Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips is critical. Experience with telemetry and understanding basic arrhythmias is essential.
