About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Strong assessment and time management skills - Telemetry skills for monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms - Experience with managing post-cath and post-surgical patients - Ability to perform trach care, chest tube management, and IV maintenance - Knowledge of patient education and discharge planning Description: The RN will work in a busy, team-oriented environment. The unit has 20-36 beds, accommodating patients with a variety of acute and chronic illnesses. Common diagnoses include diabetes, hypertension, infections, and cardiac issues. Patient demographics consist of general, orthopedic, trauma, and post-surgical cases. The patient-to-nurse ratio will typically be 1:4 to 1:6. Support staff will include CNAs and a Unit Secretary during specified hours. RNs will have the responsibility of drawing blood and administering IV medications. There will be access to a respiratory therapy team and a hospitalist on duty 24/7. RNs are expected to titrate certain drips as needed but will not perform sheath pulls post-cath. Success in this role requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team for care coordination. Weekend shifts and holiday coverage are part of the scheduling expectations. Overall, the environment promotes growth and teamwork amongst nursing staff.
