Production OperatorThe Production Operator runs and maintains highly automated electronics manufacturing equipment used to produce printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies. This role focuses on operating selective solder, wave solder, solder fountain, and PCB depaneling machines to meet IPC Class 2, Class 3, and J-Standard specifications, while ensuring high-quality workmanship, accurate documentation, and a clean, organized production environment.ResponsibilitiesOperate automated electronics assembly equipment, including selective solder machines, wave solder machines, solder fountain machines, PCB depaneling machines, and other manufacturing equipment used to build a wide variety of electronic devices and printed circuit board assemblies to IPC Class 2, Class 3, and J-Standard specifications.Set up, load, adjust, and perform routine maintenance on automated electronics assembly equipment, ensuring machines are properly configured and ready for production.Train other team members in the safe and effective operation, setup, loading, adjustment, and basic maintenance of automated electronics assembly equipment for any assigned product.Perform thorough inspection and verification of component placement prior to running assemblies through automated equipment to prevent defects and ensure build quality.Read, understand, and follow all assembly documentation every time an assembly is built, and train others to accurately interpret and follow this documentation.Ensure production lines operate strictly in accordance with the correct revision of assembly documentation and work instructions, maintaining compliance with all specifications.Know, understand, and strictly adhere to all area work instructions and assembly documentation, and support others in following these standards consistently.Identify opportunities to improve processes and submit suggestions that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in the production area.Complete and maintain all required training and certifications, including IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001, and keep credentials current.Work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, cooperative production culture.Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers on the production line, in other production areas, with shift supervisors, manufacturing leadership, and other departments to share information and feedback on product build quality.Maintain a clean and organized production area in accordance with 5S standards, ensuring workstations and equipment remain orderly and safe.Strictly comply with company core values and motto, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and respect in daily work.Offer assistance in other production areas when needed and proactively inform management when work levels are low or additional tasks can be taken on.Manage multiple tasks and activities concurrently in a fast-paced environment where interruptions may occur, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Essential SkillsAbility to meet or exceed all key job responsibilities, compliance requirements, and non-conformance handling duties outlined in the role.High school diploma or equivalent GED.Minimum of an associate degree or at least 3 months of working experience in the electronics manufacturing industry in skilled assembly operator or related roles for direct hire consideration.Understanding of electronic components, printed circuit boards, and equipment terminology, including polarity, SMT, ESD, component identification, component types, SPI, and AOI.Efficient computer skills with familiarity using MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel.Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members, supervisors, and other departments.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly and documentation compliance.Self-motivation with the ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team.Ability to work any required shift, including weekend or night shifts and overtime as needed.Ability to maintain focus and quality while managing multiple activities concurrently in an environment with ongoing interruptions.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 4+ years of recent experience as an electronics assembly machine operator, including operating automated equipment such as selective solder machines, wave solder machines, solder fountain machines, PCB depaneling machines, and related manufacturing equipment to meet IPC Class 2, Class 3, and J-Standard specifications.Background in IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies).Background in IPC-A-600 (Acceptability of Printed Boards) is preferred.Working knowledge of J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies).Working knowledge of IPC-7711/7721 (Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies).Experience in general production and machine operation in an electronics manufacturing environment.Hands-on experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and SMT machines.Prior soldering experience in a production or electronics assembly setting.Experience working within 5S or similar lean manufacturing environments.Why Work Here?You will join a culture-driven The environment emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to 5S standards. While on the production floor, employees wear a smock and shoe straps to maintain ESD protection and product quality. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the potential for additional shifts, weekend work, or overtime as needed to support production demands. The workplace uses modern automated electronics assembly equipment and supports a structured, process-driven approach to manufacturing.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Meridian, ID.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.50 - $22.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
