Senior Account Manager (Food Ingredients)

Our portfolio includes poultry beef egg alternative protein salt oils starches sweeteners cocoa and chocolate.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Sr. Account Manager will focus on a few of the companys large or very complex customers within the chicago this role you will handle critical or complex products that require excellent client relationship skills to maintain competitive positioning

Key Accountabilities

• Develop a plan to establish and maintain account relationships and meet personal sales targets.
• Build a business plan for each account.
• Coordinate use of resource to provide value added services to accounts.
• Develop strong client relationships that provide significant input to planning product price and service strategies.
• Prepare for the negotiation process and negotiate all accounts within the franchise to meet financial objectives.
• Support supervisor and other sales professionals in developing new market opportunities in the designated territory or market.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of four years of related experience in sales business development or a related field within the food ingredients industry
• Strong presentation skills comfortable with presenting in front of customers and face to face interaction
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% for candidates based in the Minneapolis area
• Ability and willingness to travel locally up to 40% for candidates based in the Chicago area

Preferred Qualifications

• B2B Sales experience
• Sales experience working with large food manufacturing business
• Experience in understanding customer needs articulating customer objectives and adding value to partnerships demonstrated negotiation and value-based / consultative sales skills
• Experience with Salesforce risk management tools or customer relationship management software

• The expected salary for this position is $95000 to $150000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location certifications education and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
