Key Responsibilities
- Beverage Service
- Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customer preferences.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of drink menus and specials.
- Ensure compliance with TABC laws and guidelines regarding the responsible service of alcohol.
- Customer Engagement
- Provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for guests.
- Take drink and food orders promptly and accurately.
- Address customer questions, preferences, and special requests with professionalism.
- Compliance and Safety
- Verify customer identification to ensure the legal drinking age.
- Monitor guest behavior and consumption, refusing service to intoxicated individuals when necessary.
- Adhere to all TABC regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Bar Maintenance
- Restock bar inventory, including liquor, mixers, and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including glassware and equipment.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including counting the cash drawer and cleaning tasks.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with servers, barbacks, and management to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively to manage guest flow and meet service standards.
- TABC Certification : Must have a current and valid TABC certificate.
- Previous experience as a bartender or in a related role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages, mixology, and bar equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and busy environments with professionalism.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items such as cases of beverages or kegs.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
