Member of Technical Staff, Compiler

Compiled Health compiles the standard of care into executable, evidence-traceable decision artifacts, with the compiler live in Canadian public health care today. Founded by a physician who worked with OpenAI's health and safety research team; $3M seed plus a family office committed through Series A. Six people, fully remote across North America with offsites every couple of months. You'll study how far frontier models can go in extracting, structuring and proving clinical logic, design the experiments that settle what works, and ship the winning approach.

What you'll do

• Build the pipeline that converts clinical standards into executable modules: parsing with document and layout models, transformation, validation.
• Design and iterate on the target syntax for guideline logic.
• Run experiments: open vs closed models, fine-tuning, constrained decoding.
• Co-design benchmarks and adversarial cases for source fidelity, logical completeness and recommendation correctness.
• Develop deterministic validators using static analysis, constraint solving or formal methods.

Requirements

• 3+ years of research or industry experience, or a final-year PhD/postdoc; publications in clinical AI a strong signal.
• Python, PyTorch, Transformers, LLMs; static analysis or SMT/SAT solvers; FHIR and HL7 v2 a plus.
• High-output, high-ownership; not a 35-hours-a-week environment.
• US citizen/Green Card or Canada-based with right to work; no visa sponsorship.
• Remote in North America with in-person offsites several times a year.

Compensation: $250K – $400K base plus competitive equity (up to 5% for frontier-lab candidates, cash/equity ratio flexible), health, dental, vision, flexible PTO and paid parental leave. Interview: founder intro, 60-min research deep dive, logistics and offer.
