StevenDouglas is engaged on a search for an Operations Accounting Manager to lead property accounting for a portfolio of approximately 5 million square feet across 35 office buildings . This role will oversee a team of approximately 7 accounting professionals and report to the Senior Director, Operations Accounting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and partnering with senior leadership to drive operational excellence. This role operates on a 4/1 hybrid schedule and offices in downtown Austin.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee property accounting, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, straight-line rent, and lease accounting.
• Manage CAM budgets, true-ups, and annual reconciliations using Yardi Advanced Recoveries.
• Partner with Finance and FP&A on budgets and forecasts and support Financial Reporting with quarterly and annual reporting.
• Analyze financial results and communicate key business drivers and recommendations to management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 7 accounting professionals.
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Operations, and senior leadership.
• Evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and controls to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Lead automation, system optimization, and other process improvement initiatives.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience , including leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end and quarter-end close, reconciliations, accruals, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Demonstrated success leading process improvement, automation, or systems initiatives
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills. xhyhwjd
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Commercial real estate, property accounting, or lease accounting experience
