Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Pediatric Physical Therapist, you will take on a variety of critical responsibilities that contribute to the overall well-being and recovery of your patients. Your duties will include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of pediatric patients, assessing their physical abilities and limitations to create individualized treatment plans.
• Designing and implementing effective therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing neurological, orthopedic, and developmental conditions in children.
• Providing education to families about treatment strategies, home exercise programs, and strategies to support their child's recovery.
• Collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and physical therapy assistants, to ensure a seamless continuum of care for each patient.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patients' progress, treatment provided, and outcomes achieved, adhering to established regulatory standards.
• Participating in ongoing training and continuing education activities that align with your professional development goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents who require physical therapy due to a variety of diagnoses, including but not limited to cerebral palsy, developmental coordination disorders, sports-related injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation. This role requires a deep understanding of pediatric developmental milestones, growth patterns, and the unique needs of young patients and their families.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university. A Master's degree or Doctoral degree is preferred.
• A valid Physical Therapy License in the State of New York and current CPR certification.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric physical therapy is required.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with young patients and their families effectively.

Preferred Experience

While pediatric experience is highly preferred, we welcome candidates with general physical therapy backgrounds who demonstrate a passion for working with children and a willingness to learn and grow in this specialized field.

Compensation and Benefits
