Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Care Unit position in Somerset, KY, requiring at least 3 years of experience and AHA certifications including PALS and NRP.

Details

• Work in an 8-bed Pediatric Care Unit within a 295-bed acute care hospital in Somerset, KY
• Patient population includes pediatrics from newborn to 17 years of age
• Common diagnoses and treatments include failure to thrive, hyperbilirubinemia, bronchiolitis, RSV, respiratory distress, nausea/vomiting, and post-operative T&A care
• Patient ratios are 3:1 or 4:1 depending on acuity
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 2 weekend shifts required per month (Friday night and Saturday night are considered weekend shifts)
• Float requirement to mother/baby well baby unit
• EMR: Meditech
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in KY or a compact state currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, PALS, and NRP
• Minimum 3 years of pediatric nursing experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate

• Orientation takes place weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Ideal candidates are self-motivated with strong assessment skills and the ability to multitask
