Sr. Implementation Engineer

About the Role Q2 is seeking a Senior Implementation Engineer for its Risk & Fraud Management Service Delivery team. The role focuses on delivering complex financial institution transformation initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, core conversions, and platform migrations. The engineer will configure, test, and support these solutions, ensuring seamless client transitions during high‑impact events. Key Responsibilities Partner with clients and internal teams to understand business requirements and direct configuration duties. Develop and perform quality assurance checkpoints within the team to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Problem‑solve routine and complex issues, creating tools to increase quality, security, and productivity. Track status and provide updates on implementation progress. Execute and validate database merges, deconversions, and data migrations aligned to merger and conversion timelines. Author and maintain runbooks used during conversion events. Participate in weekend go‑lives, executing runbooks, troubleshooting issues, and providing production support until project completion. Leverage emerging technologies, including automation and AI, to improve delivery efficiency and support scalable implementation practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 8+ years of experience in enterprise software implementation or related roles. Strong MS SQL skills – database design, T‑SQL query language, and debugging. Experience with configuring and deploying web services and data migrations. Familiarity with cloud hosting environments (Azure, AWS); VMware experience is a plus. Experience with Python or other scripting languages. Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills. Excellent detail orientation, follow‑through, and ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Positive disposition, teamwork skills, ownership of activities, and focus on successful completion. Ability to train individuals one‑on‑one or in a classroom environment. Strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical people. Extremely fluent written and oral communication in English. Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
