The Ravenna School District is seeking interested and qualified candidates to teach ELL/English as a Second Language for Elementary through High School aged students.
Position Type: Part-time English Language Learner (ELL/ESL) Tutor Hours: Approximately. 20-25 hours per week Pay Rate: $30.15/hour Mileage: Reimbursement based upon IRS rate Sick Leave: 1.25 days/month Personal Leave: None Date Available: 2026-2027 School Year
The ESL/ELL Tutor assignment includes:
- Direct instruction with students whose English is limited
- Consult and collaboration with teachers to support the classroom instruction
- Ability to work cooperatively in multiple school buildings
- Administration of the OELPS -Ohio's English language screening tools (if needed)
- Administration of the OELPA- Ohio's English Language Proficiency Assessment (Spring)
- Communication with parents/guardians about the student's progress working with the teachers and district supervisor.
Requirements: (but not needed at the time of application)
- Criminal background check
- Substitute teaching license through the Ohio Department of Education
- Bachelor's Degree
- TESL experience and working with K-12 student experience preferred.
