Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour and 8-hour shifts as needed | Shift times: 15:00–03:30 or 19:00–07:30 | Weekend and holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to both adult and pediatric patient populations in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
• Assess, triage, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute and critical conditions
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation, order management, and patient communication
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias and heart blocks
• Float to other units as needed based on departmental staffing requirements
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as part of standard scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license required
• Minimum two (2) years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three (3) years
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications – American Heart Association (AHA) only – required
• TNCC certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification); up to two attempts permitted before additional remediation steps apply
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume or academic medical center Emergency Department
• Familiarity with cardiac rhythm interpretation, including 3rd degree heart blocks and pediatric arrhythmias
• Experience working in a Magnet-designated facility
