RN Supervisor - Each Weekend & Every Wednesday - (7a-7p) - Elm Terrace Gardens RN Supervisor - Each Weekend and Every Wednesday Full Time, Permanent Opportunity (72 Hrs. Bi-Weekly) We are growing and seeking an RN Supervisor to join our team to work Each Weekend and every Wednesday. Elm Terrace Gardens is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in the heart of Lansdale PA. Schedule: Each weekend and every Wednesday: 7:00 am-7:00 pm (12 hr. shifts) Purpose: To provide professional direct resident nursing care and, inconjunction with the charge nurse, to supervise daily nursing activities performed by Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants. To promote and maintain a positive physical, social, and psychological environment for residents in the Skilled Nursing Facility. To perform these duties in accordance with applicable current federal, state, and local regulations and standards, and as may be directed by the Charge Nurse; and to perform these duties in accordance with the mission of Elm Terrace Gardens to promote the health and well‑being of individual residents based on their functional abilities and potential. Nursing Care Functions - Duties: Render and administer professional nursing services, including prescribed treatments and medications, in accordance with physician's orders and the physician-approved individual resident care plans. Provide direct nursing care as necessary to assigned residents. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required. As requested, ensure that rooms are properly prepared to receive new residents. As requested, notify families or responsible parties about resident expirations or transfers to acute care facilities. Make rounds with residents' physicians as necessary and ensure their completion of record keeping. Consult with physicians in providing care, treatment, diagnostic, and therapeutic services. Accurately complete, maintain, and verify as necessary drug inventories, medical forms, physician and consultant orders, reports, evaluations, and resident chart entries to a established policy, procedures, and guidelines. Know and comply with facility infection control policies and procedures, including the blood‑borne pathogen standard, infectious waste disposal, and such other standards as may be promulgated from time to time. Ensure cleanliness and safety of all nursing service and treatment areas. As assigned by the Charge Nurse, supervise, direct, and instruct Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants in the performance of their assigned duties, ensuring the maintenance of the highest degree of quality care at all times and the adherence to facility policies and procedures on resident care. Exercise professional judgment and make independent decisions to ensure the proper delivery of nursing services to residents in accordance with standard nursing practices and facility policies and procedures. Follow established safety rules and regulations at all times, including fire safety procedures and disaster control. Promptly report accidents, incidents, and unsafe and hazardous equipment or conditions. Assume the duties of Charge Nurse on an acting basis of Infection Control Coordinator as directed by the Director of Nursing. Maintain professional license to practice nursing. Present positive endorsement of Elm Terrace Gardens, its mission, programs, policies, procedures, and administration to Elm Terrace Gardens residents, staff, visitors, and other constituencies at all times. Experience and Skills: Qualifications: Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and be currently licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, Department of State; or Must be a graduate in good standing of a Commonwealth-approved school of nursing with a temporary permit to practice nursing in the Commonwealth after passing the state board examination; and Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing skilled nursing facilities; and Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and completed high school or obtained the equivalent of a high school education; and Must possess the ability to speak to and be understood by residents and staff, and demonstrate the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions; and Must possess an agreeable and helpful attitude toward senior adults.
