AccountantLocation: Wyoming, MI Compensation: $35,000 – $45,000 Schedule: 24-30 hours per week, OR Full Time / 40 hoursOur client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join their team. This position could be full time for the right candidate.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess bi-weekly payroll for approximately 20-40 employees, including reviewing reports, making adjustments, and submitting payroll for processing.Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.Support general ledger accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.Review accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations completed by other team members and post finalized entries.Assist with audit preparation and ongoing accounting projects.Generate and analyze financial reports utilizing Excel and accounting softwareQualificationsRequiredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account balancing, and reconciliations.Advanced Excel skills and the ability to generate and manipulate reports.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.PreferredPrevious accounting experience in a nonprofit environment.Retail accounting experience.Inventory reconciliation experience.Experience with international banking, currency exchanges, or foreign transactions.Experience using Abila MIP, Shopify, CounterPoint, or similar accounting and inventory systems
