If you are organized, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to patient care, this role provides a rewarding environment to develop your skills and advance your healthcare career.ResponsibilitiesSort and receive specimens in the laboratory departmentPerform routine instrument maintenance on laboratory equipmentCenter specimens by centrifuging and prepare them for testingPrint extra labels and record data such as temperature chartsStore and retrieve specimens accuratelyPrepare reagents and media for laboratory usePrepare specimens at workstations, including building worklists, aliquoting samples, and checking for clots or fibrinInoculate samples and prepare slides for microscopyPerform quality assurance and quality control duties as assignedResolve pending sample lists and find missing samplesDecontaminate work areas and follow all safety protocols, including PPE requirementsPerform weekly radioactive wipe tests and change gas cylinders as neededMaintain accurate department records and filesUse laboratory computer systems and operate PCs effectivelyProperly dispose of biohazardous materialsComplete training and competency checklists to ensure complianceRequired SkillsAbility to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks efficientlyStrong attention to detail and ability to retain informationExcellent interpersonal skills to interact courteously with coworkers and customersBasic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety regulationsFamiliarity with laboratory computer systemsAdditional Skills & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant training is helpfulMath and science courses are preferredNo prior work experience required; entry-level candidates are encouraged to applyAbility to work in a clinical laboratory environment and follow all safety and PPE protocolsSchedule flexibility may be preferred for some shiftsElevate your healthcare career by joining a dynamic laboratory team committed to excellence in patient care.
