Laser Operator

Laser and Press OperatorThis position is for a Laser Operator and Press Operator in a dynamic fabrication environment. You will work closely with the fabrication team, interpreting blueprints, using hand and power tools, and solving problems as they arise. While some tasks are repetitive, we need someone who can take direction, work collaboratively, and independently think about how to assemble equipment. The laser machine in use is a Cincinnati CL960 fiber laser. We are open to hiring someone with laser experience or training a mechanically inclined individual for the role.ResponsibilitiesInterpret and read blueprints to determine the proper layout of equipment.Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment to complete tasks.Collaborate effectively with the team, communicate clearly, and take direction to work efficiently.Solve problems, maintain attention to detail, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.Use manual machinery to fabricate parts and fixtures.Operate forklifts and overhead cranes, if possible.Essential Skills3 years of experience in Machine Assembly, Laser Operation, CNC Operation, or a similar role that involves non-repetitive and non-assembly line work.Ability to interpret and read blueprints.Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma required; Technical School education is a plus.Experience with blueprint readings, drawings, tape measures, assembly, wiring, mechanical and electrical tools is beneficial.Why Work Here?Join a medium-sized, family-owned company that values professional development and employee appreciation. The environment is designed to be supportive and collaborative, with a focus on safety and efficiency.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
