Laboratory Manager

The Laboratory Manager organizes and controls all aspects of the laboratory management. Supervise general workflow, professional customer service and the maintenance of equipment, as well as quality control and day-to-day running of the laboratory. Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in performing laboratory tests of a chemical and physical nature. Directs and advises personnel in special test procedures to analyze components and physical properties of materials. Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.

Establishes procedure protocol for the section

Monitors staff productivity and analyzes workload and test statistics

Controls inventory and ensure supplies and equipment is use in cost effective manner

Maintains all records to comply with inspection

Stays abreast of new tests, new procedures and new technology in the Medical Technology

Initiates discussion with medical and administrative personnel regarding implementation of new methodology, tests and procedures as appropriate

Establishes and implements written operating procedures and protocols that are in compliance with OSHA standards

Promote the continuing professional development of staff and oversee the training of trainees

Participates in data collection for quality improvement.

Participates in Quality Improvement activities including team membership.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and ASCP preferred
• Blood Bank experience required
• With 2-5 years of Managerial experience, hospital setting preferred
