BA/BS Counselor | HIV Early Intervention Program (96)

Job Purpose:
- The BA/BS Counselor at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices to support their mental health and well-being. This role involves assessing client needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide counseling services using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support clients in achieving their mental health goals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting progress and any changes in treatment plans.
- Participate in case conferences and contribute to the development of best practices within the center.
- Offer crisis intervention and support to clients in emergency situations.
- Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions and available resources.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health counseling and integrate new knowledge into practice.
- Uphold the ethical standards and confidentiality requirements of the counseling profession.

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a counseling or mental health setting.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Proficiency in using counseling techniques and therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Competence in using electronic health records and other relevant software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
