Job Description
Registered Nurse - Obstetrics

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, 18:45-07:15. Every other weekend requirement with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks. RTO policy includes auto-approval of up to 7 days (no holidays) and must work 2 out of 3 major holidays, with no RTO during the first week.

Assignment Details

Contracts available for 20+ weeks, with a hard stop on 02/27/2027. Average daily volume includes approximately 20 births, 30-40 admissions, and about 40 visits.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience (3 years preferred) in a high-volume obstetrics unit with more than 300 births per month.
• Experience with high-risk antepartum/postpartum care and labor & delivery care in a fast-paced environment.
• BLS/BCLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate required; AWHONN Advanced preferred.
• Circulate for C-section/OR experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system required.
• NC or Compact license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to obstetrical patients including high-risk antepartum and postpartum care.
• Monitor fetal well-being and perform fetal monitoring interpretation.
• Conduct and document sterile vaginal exams and immediate newborn care.
• Participate in triage and manage high-risk labor and delivery situations.
• Start and maintain IVs as necessary for patient care.

Compliance / Notes

COVID-19 vaccine is not required, but flu vaccine is mandatory (medical/religious exemptions only). Candidate must complete lab testing within 48 hours after signing. Additional background checks or compliance requirements will be addressed post-offer.
