Elder Associate (CNA) Position Job Type: Full Time | Varied Sign on bonus available: $3,000 Hot job referral bonus available: $1,000 to current staff Schedule: 40 hours per week, non-exempt, evening/night shifts, every other weekend (2nd and 4th), Christmas holiday rotation even years Franklin House Responsibilities Perform basic patient care skills under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Demonstrate safe practices with caring for patients. Provides general nursing care such as position the patient, lifting, turning, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in the use of bed pan, urinal or commode, ambulating the patient, bed bath, oral and hair care, changing bed linens, cleaning and straightening patient room and other general care necessary. Takes and records vitals and intake and output measurements accurately. Documents in a timely manner. Answers Elder call lights, telephone, and paging system and respond as appropriate. Qualifications Michigan Nurse Aide certification (CNA) required (must be obtained within 4 months of hire) Basic Life Support (BLS) required (available upon hire) ServSafe required within 6 months of hire Graduate of a Program in Discipline required High School Diploma or equivalent required Minimum 1-2 years of CNA experience preferred Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
