Elder Associate (CNA) Position Job Type: PRN Schedule: 4 shifts per schedule, minimum of 2 of these on the weekend. As an Elder Associate (CNA) joining our team, you’re embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier . How You’ll Contribute Perform basic patient care skills under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Demonstrate safe practices with caring for patients. Provide general nursing care such as positioning the patient, lifting, turning, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting with bed pan, urinal or commode, ambulating the patient, bed bath, oral and hair care, changing bed linens, cleaning and straightening patient room and other general care necessary. Takes and records vitals and intake and output measurements accurately; documents in a timely manner. Answers Elder call lights, telephone, and paging system and responds as appropriate. What We’re Looking For Michigan Nurse Aide certification (CNA) required (must be obtained within 4 months of hire). Basic Life Support (BLS) required (available upon hire). ServSafe required within 6 months of hire. Graduate of a Program in a Discipline required. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1‑2 years of CNA experience preferred. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
