Site Engineer I Contributing member to the site‑level Data Center Operations team assigned to one or more data‑center properties and reporting directly to the Manager of Engineering Operations. Experienced in mission‑critical infrastructure such as generators, UPS systems, HVAC, fire/life‑safety, BMS, and CMMS systems. Expect expertise in either electrical or mechanical work. What You’ll Do Gain a complete understanding of site‑related items: facility layout, MEP systems, equipment nomenclature, drawings, and standard operating procedures. Understand customer SLAs and engineering lease obligations critical to data‑center operations. Support event management, escalation, and incident‑reporting procedures. Use CMMS to create, edit, implement, and close change‑management work orders. Create, edit, resolve incident reports following a site incident. Apply maintenance and operations standards and health‑and‑safety regulations. Supervise construction activity and installations as required. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical systems to achieve 100 % uptime and SLA compliance. Perform inspections, detect anomalies, and develop or improve SOPs. Support accreditation initiatives (SSAE‑16, SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.). Complete DLR Critical Awareness Training. What You’ll Need At least 1 year of experience in mission‑critical facilities operating/engineering or equivalent equipment experience. Hands‑on electrical or mechanical skill with competence in the non‑expertise area. Strong knowledge of UPS systems, cooling systems, and redundancy configurations (N+1, 2N, etc.). Understanding of energy‑efficiency principles. Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with Project, Acrobat, Visio, or AutoCAD. Basic understanding of emergency situations and escalation processes. Strong understanding of CMMS, DCIM, and power‑metering systems. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, stretch, and climb ladders up to 16 feet. Work under a raised data‑center floor.
