Business Office Associate

Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking a full-time Business Office Associate who will assist with the daily operations of the Business Office. This role will provide receptionist, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections and administrative support.

Responsibilities include:

• Be the face of the business office by providing front office support, answering phone calls and assisting visitors, students, faculty and staff with questions and concerns.
• Process accounts payables and receivables, including invoices, expense reports, check requests, vendor payments and student payments.
• Manage the collection process and associated vendors.
• Maintain vendor records, W-9's, 1099s and support credit card administration.
• Respond to parents, students, employees and vendor questions regarding student accounts, payables, receivables, and HR processes.
• Perform system and file audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Back-up the HR Generalist with new hire paperwork and personnel records.
• Complete other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two or more years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, business office operations, or a related administrative role.
• Working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, HR practices, and applicable employment and tax regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong organizational skills, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications include:

• Experience in higher education or a non-profit organization.
• Familiarity with ERP, HRIS, or integrated financial systems.
