Mathematics General Education Teacher | Gretna, Louisiana

Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in high school education by bringing your passion for mathematics to a dynamic classroom environment. This contract teaching position offers the opportunity to inspire and guide students in their math studies while working full time during the academic year.

Qualifications:

Hold an active Louisiana DOE teaching certificate (Temporary Authority to Teach is not accepted)
Proven experience or training in teaching general education math at the high school level
Prepared to complete district-required credentialing, including drug screening and fingerprinting
Flexible and adaptable to serve at one or more campuses based on assignment
Dedicated to fostering a positive and engaging learning atmosphere

Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess math instruction aligned with curriculum standards for high school students
Create supportive, inclusive classroom environments that encourage student growth and participation
Monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and communicate effectively with parents and administrators
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and share resources
Maintain accurate records, lesson plans, and attendance in accordance with school policies
Uphold all district and state policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful classroom
