Buyer I/II
The City of Anaheim Purchasing Department is seeking a Buyer I/II. The Purchasing Department oversees the acquisition of all materials, capital equipment, operating supplies, and contracted services for the City. It's responsibilities include anticipating departmental needs, creating cost effective specifications, strategically sourcing vendors, managing competitive bid processes, and negotiating contracts. Buyers perform a variety of professional level duties involved in the cost effective procurement of quality services, equipment, and supplies as required and requisitioned by City departments. Ideal candidate will possess:
- Purchasing experience in a public sector environment is desirable.
- Purchasing experience for a full service city to include public utilities, police, fire is desirable.
- Certifications for a Certified Professional Public Buyer or Certified Procurement Professional is highly desirable.
The City of Anaheim reserves the option to hire at either level based on candidate qualification and selection process.
