Schedule Every Sunday (11pm-7:30am) for 4hrs Every Thursday (11pm-7:30pm) Mandatory rotating holiday schedule Job Overview Cardiology Access unit seeks a highly motivated and dedicated administrative professional to join our team as a Unit Coordinator. The individual must provide night shift availability and coverage on holidays. The position is a permanent weekly role at Ellison 11, a 36‑bed Cardiology Access unit in Boston, MA. Benefits Weekly pay Shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends Access to MGB Shuttle Service Membership to MGB Fitness Center Essential Functions Perform patient care‑related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including performing and documenting point of care, vital signs, EKGs, bathing and other sanitary needs of patients, transferring and assisting with ambulation, 1:1 patient observation for safety purposes, and phlebotomy. Assist RNs and physicians with other exams and treatments as required. Complete all documentation such as height, weight, intake of fluids and food, output of urine/stool/vomit/other drainage, and blood glucose results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Assist patients with food tray setup, eating, and feeding as needed. Ensure patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately, as needs indicate and as patient volumes change. Retrieve equipment from other areas, set up equipment, clean equipment between patient use, and report malfunctioning equipment per organizational policy. Assist with admitting and discharging patients. Facilitate orientation of new PCA team members as directed. Interact with patients, visitors, and other care team members effectively. Communicate with nursing staff effectively and in a timely manner regarding issues related to patient care and condition. Foster a positive, collaborative team environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth. Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred. Administrative support experience of 2–3 years required. Licenses and Credentials Certified Health Unit Coordinator – National Association of Health Unit Coordinators (NAHUC) preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency with office procedures and equipment (filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing). Proficiency in MS Office. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Ability to use phone system. Manage own time and the time of others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, written and oral skills. Ability to use standard office equipment. Familiarity with medical terminology.
