Position: Infectious Disease Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Infectious Disease Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) for a full-time position in Edmonds, WA. This is a day shift opportunity with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM. This is a temporary-to-hire position open to both local and non-local candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, and pulse oximetry.
• Prepare patients for examination by positioning and draping, and recording medical history, medications, and allergies.
• Assist with various medical procedures such as dressing changes, Pap smears, and setting up sterile procedure trays.
• Administer injections, including immunizations, intradermal, and intramuscular.
• Perform specimen collection and proper labeling of specimens for testing (sputum, stool, throat, urine, vaginal, wound).
• Conduct laboratory tests including strep tests and urine dipstick/urinalysis.
• Handle office duties such as authorization forms, chart preparation, insurance verification, and scheduling appointments.
• Provide exceptional patient care, including follow-up phone calls, reviewing lab tests, and managing wound care.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C); no other credentials will be accepted.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems, specifically EPIC, is necessary.

Skills Required:

• Administering medications and conducting TB tests.
• Experience in adult outpatient clinical settings.
• Strong organizational skills for managing office duties and patient care logistics.
• Effective communication skills for patient interactions and telephone triage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.

Work Schedule:

This position operates on a standard day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, with weekends off.
