The PIHC model of care assures that persons with HIV have access to medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health and social services, providing the best opportunity for patients to achieve high-quality health outcomes.Job Summary: The Clinic Nurse Manager will supervise activities of the clinical care teams responsible for care of persons living with HIV and for HIV-negative patients enrolled in the Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Program and STI Program. The Clinic Nurse Manager will oversee day to day operations of the clinic. The Clinic Nurse Manager will directly supervise the clinic's RNs and LPNs. The Clinic Nurse Manager is supervised by the Clinic Site Coordinator and Director of Clinical Care.Management Responsibilities (50%)Manage daily clinic operations for an outpatient HIV clinic including:Plan work schedules and support staff assignmentsSupervise and train clinic nursing and support staffMonitor use of staff, services and facilities to maximize efficiencyMonitor medical supply inventory and oversee purchasing of suppliesEnsure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines and requirementsEvaluate quality and effectiveness of programs and servicesAnalyze data for use in quality improvementCollaborate with other Departments, Department Director Medical Provider's and Medical Director to address clinic issues and system changesParticipate in the agency's Continuous Quality Improvement programAssist with updates of clinic standard operating procedures, standing orders and protocols.Clinical Responsibilities (50%)Conduct histories and physical examinationsPerform or order appropriate laboratory studies and accurately document all findingsAnalyze and evaluate findings from history, physical and lab dataIdentify and treat specified sexually transmitted infections (STIs) by standardized protocols and standing ordersProvide treatments, administer medications and vaccines and provide preventative and maintenance care to clients according to clinic protocols.Provide adherence, sexual health and risk reduction counselling and education.Assess clients' adherence and tolerance of medications and treatment plansAbide by all state and agency policies regarding confidentiality of client informationPerform or oversee phone triage with patientsMaintains accurate and confidential medical records. Documents all patient interactions consistent with PIHC policies and procedures.Report infectious diseases to the Department of Public HealthCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop holistic care plans.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesPossesses and demonstrates an understanding of the fundamentals of outpatient ambulatory care, HIV care and services and PrEP services (preferred).Works effectively with a high level of autonomyDemonstrates effective leadership abilityFosters teamworkPossesses excellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated good organization and time management skillsAble to assist staff with conflict resolutionElectronic Medical Record system knowledge preferredProficient in word processing, spreadsheet database and presentation softwareAbides by all policies and procedures concerning personnel including conflict of interest policyMinimum Qualifications:Registered Professional Nurse with management experienceExperience:At least 2-3 years of management experiencePreference for prior HIV care experience or national HIV certification, STI or Public Health and/or Bilingual (Spanish)License:Registered Professional Nurse licensed to practice in the State of GeorgiaPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
